About Me

Grew up on a farm in the midwest, was homeschooled, and am happily living at home with my family. I work part-time and love studying free market economics, history, literature, and other somewhat nerdy subjects. Oddly enough, I also enjoy creative projects and making beautiful things. I'm a really cheap person (only bought clothing at a non-thrift store once...for my brother's wedding...) and I like trying to figure out how to make chic, cute things in my room and wardrobe for free or minimal costs. I also enjoy writing and have published my first novel. The name of this blog came from a poem I wrote several years ago called "Golden Green" which describe my wonder at the colors of nature, especially the stunning shades created by sunlight drifting through pine branches in late afternoon. It is so easy to get caught up with convenience and routines instead of taking time to appreciate beauty everywhere and create an atmosphere of loveliness wherever we are.
